ANNUAL REPORT
2024
Leading with purpose, our more than 500 young professionals from Ghana, Liberia, Kenya, and Malawi transformed Africa’s public sector in 2024. Their successes in the workplace, community engagements, and international participation in policy development, detailed in this report, are a true testament to the impact that purposeful investment in leadership training of entry-level public servants makes across the continent.
Together with incredible partners and supporters, we celebrated 15 years of excellent public service leadership development in Liberia and laid the foundations for program innovations and expansion into Sierra Leone, among other achievements, to reach more young professionals, especially women and marginalized groups.
“As our network expands, so does our impact—not just at the individual level but across the public service ecosystem. With extensive connections across multiple government departments, Emerging Public Leaders’ alumni are driving whole-of government solutions to today’s most pressing challenges in an increasingly complex world.”
The launch of the inaugural cohort in Malawi in September 2024 marked a significant step in building a new generation of ethical public sector leaders. Thirty-five (35) young professionals (57% women) were recruited and placed in 24 ministries, departments, and agencies.
In 2024, our program exceeded our job creation target and empowered more young leaders into careers that directly help improve vital public services across Africa.
