Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship program

Public Service Emerging Leaders Fellowship program, a premier leadership development program for a new generation of ethical young leaders prepared to transform Kenya’s public service to overcome inefficiencies and improve public governance. In 2021, we launched (PSELF) in partnership with the Public Service Commission of Kenya and Emerging Leaders Foundation Africa.

Fellows in Kenya undergo a 12-month inclusive leadership development program that targets young civil servants and is focused on public-sector leadership development, ethics cultivation, and citizen-centered government delivery. Through four week-long training segments, developed in collaboration with the Chandler Institute of Governance and delivered throughout the year, Fellows work diligently with their trainers and supervisors to develop best practices in citizen-centered policy design and strengthen trust in the public sector through ethical leadership.

Kenya’s most promising young public servants continue to receive workplace support from their mentors and supervisors, ongoing professional development opportunities, and support from our network of peers and alumni across the continent in public service careers.

We currently have 112 (48% women) graduates working in entry-level government positions.
