EPL Malawi is now training 46 outstanding women and men completed their orientation as part of the second cohort.

In 2023, Emerging Public Leaders and the Government of Malawi signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the beginning of a new collaboration, to develop and deliver a public service fellowship for young leaders in Malawi. The one-year fellowship program is designed to equip high-achieving Malawian university graduates with the technical and soft skills to drive impact in the public sector and promote best practices of good governance.

Over the course of the Fellowship program, the young professionals will attend rigorous training, complete a community service project, meet with mentors, and work alongside colleagues at various government ministries and agencies.

The second cohort is made up of 46 recent university graduates, including 33 women, with various educational backgrounds, mertiocratically selected from all 28 districts of Malawi. Following their selection, they attended a weeklong intensive orientation to learn about EPL’s pan-African network, global public service curriculum, and the history of public service in Malawi.
