The President’s Young Professionals Program
Over the last 15 years, our partner in Liberia, the President’s Young Professionals Program (PYPP), has recruited and equipped 285 women and men from across all 15 counties with the skills and resources necessary to excel as public servants in Liberia’s public sector.
In collaboration with PYPP, the Civil Service Agency, and Mastercard Foundation, we support Fellows through a two-year training program that combines intensive training, supervision, and mentoring with a full-time professional work placement that leads to employment in the civil service.
We recruit fellows and place them within government ministries, agencies, and departments, as well as private sector organizations working closely with the public sector to proactively recruit more women and persons with disabilities. These collaborations provide crucial technical guidance and open avenues for other placements and employment opportunities, including regional and national entities such as Bridge Liberia, Liberia Electricity Corporation, Liberia’s National Police, and The Nature Compact Liberia.
The program continues to grow the sub-national programming with 7 Fellows from cohort thirteen placed in Grand Bassa and 5 Fellows placed in Bong County.
PYPP is currently delivering monthly training and mentorship to 75 Fellows. Applications for the fourteenth cohort will open on August 20, 2025.
